    • This 2-hour course covers all skills needed for the adult, child or infant victim. Skills taught include CPR, AED and choking management. Thanksgiving Day is a time for family, friends and a good meal.  And for me, Thanksgiving of 2009 was also about community and how much people who don’t really know you can give. That day, I began experiencing extreme abdominal pain. I have always been a community-minded person, so when I was in extreme pain, I had no problem making the decision to be driven to the Lee’s Summit Medical Center (LSMC) emergency room.

I was promptly seen and evaluated by a triage nurse who then took me into an examining room.  I was violently ill on several occasions but my nurses were patient with me and took very good care of me.  Read More
